Here are a few rules that are for dummies which you should know for sure before stepping into the game.

Do not touch: This is as simple as it is said. Though, you are new to the soccer world, it is important for you to learn the rules. Be it you have extensive soccer knowledge or basic soccer knowledge, it is critical for you to know about this rule. This is the mostly heard rule in the pitch. It is important to know that you cannot touch the ball with the hands. The player cannot handle the ball with hands that clearly means that the player cannot touch any part of the hand or the arm. If the ball is kicked and it touches the hand or arm of the player, then it is not termed as a handball. When the player extends the arm or move and get in contact with the football, it is called as a handball. The goalkeeper holds the right to touch the ball when they are in the penalty area, which is a box that is outlined for goal. This area is around 18 yards that is out from the line of the goal. When the goalkeeper goes away from the penalty area, he should be taking the ball like the other players in the game, which means that the goalkeeper should not touch the ball with the hands or arms. A small box that is drawn in front of the goal is called as goalie’s box. This box is about six yards in length. This place is not used for anything. However, you can use this place to put the ball and then kick the goals to score great.

The main rule that is about the goalkeeper is the back-pass rule. This rule should be known to all the players in the game. It is not recommended for the goalkeepers to pick the pass that comes from either side of the teams. This is the rule that is set to safeguard the team and their leads and avoid wasting of the time by passing the ball to the goalkeeper. If any player is passing the ball to the goalkeeper, it is important for the goalie to play the ball only by using the feet otherwise the opposing team would get an indirect kick from the place where the goalie has taken the pass.

Fouls: The player who plays the foul game like tripping, knocking someone down, kicking another player, push them, punch them or do anything is against the rules. You cannot take the advantage of the other player by kicking or pushing him. This is called as a foul game. You can bump an opponent to compete with a loose play is acceptable in the game as long as you are not using the arms, hands or feet to hurt others. When you use arms and hands, then the whistle is blown by the referee. Even if the player makes a goal and it is a foul, then it is not considered to be legal. The response that is given by the referee would be final. The way in which the player would get the ball should be absolutely clean. The path of the player to get the ball cannot be over the other player. There are a few non-contact fouls that the dummies should be aware of. One is the offside foul and the other fouls are obstructions, dangerous play and hand balls. Obstruction is exactly what it is sounded. You cannot stop the other player from getting over the ball. If the player who has no ball with him/her and is coming on the way of the opponent who is trying to get the ball is known as a foul play. Dangerous plays are known as the ones who try to kick the ball in the air closer to the head of another player. When you try to land the ball on the head or on the feet of the other player or try to play with the ball when you have fallen on the ground would hurt yourself and the other player.

Throw-ins: When a team hits the ball that crosses the sideline or out of the bound or when the other team would get a throw-in. It is important for the player to take the throw-in with both the hands besides keeping the head and feet on the ground.

Corner kicks and the goal kicks: If the ball crosses the end line of the pitch, it is called as a goal kick or the corner kick by the players and it totally depends on how the team has kicked the ball that has went out of the bounds. If the team that is defending in the game would kick the ball out of the bounds, then it is called as a corner kick and if the offensive team is kicking the ball, then it is called as a goal kick. The corner kick would be taken from the corner. There is an arc that is painted in the pitch in every corner of the flag. It is important for the player to place the place in that specific arc area and kick by standing inside the arc. A goal kick is something which is placed other than the goalie box and then the player has to kick it. It is critical for you to leave the penalty area while doing the goal kick before other players plays it.

Offside: The offside rule is very easy to understand for dummies. It is not recommended for the offensive player to be ahead of the ball and involve in the attack that is carried out until and unless there is one defender who is between the player and the goalkeeper. To be precise, you cannot hit the ball by letting the defenders team to stay aside and wait for your team players to boot up for you. As per the rule, there should be at least two defending team players between the player who is attacking and the goal until the ball is ready to hit by going above the attacking player. The two players would also have a goal keeper. There would be a defender and a goalkeeper. In a few scenarios such as when the goalie is caught up, there should be one attacker to be standing in the offside position though the defender would be between the player and the goal. This will not happen often. You cannot be called as offside, when you are standing in the half of the field that is given to your team and when the ball is hit.

Yellow and red cards: These are the cards issued to the players who violate the football rules for dummies in the game. An yellow card is shown to the player as a kind of warning to him/her. When two yellow cards are shown to the player, it is equal to a red card. The red card can be issued to the player without any warning. These cards are given to the players when they are playing dirty games, throwing punches, using foul language and intent to injure others.
